Small differences can be important.

On a cold morning back in January, I was on Poole Quay, asking fishermen about skills.

Weeks later, I drove to a remote Dorset village hall, to listen to a group of farmers.

I doorstepped builders and spoke to web designers.

Why? All in the name of research for the Dorset LSIP.

Last Friday, my colleagues delivered some of these research findings to a group of stakeholders…

There was nuance in the research findings.

Did you switch off after reading that headline?

I don’t blame you.

We don’t have time for nuance these days. If you’re in business. You live in a black-and-white world:

  • Lead / Sale
  • Profit / Loss
  • Good / Bad feedback.

We’re so busy, it’s hard to be nuanced. But sometimes, it’s all about nuance.
